OutboundOS – AI Powered Self-Hosted Outbound Email

OutboundOS is a Next.js workspace for outbound email that never takes a cut of deliverability: campaigns send through the buyer’s own SMTP, not a rented inbox.

Import or find leads, draft the first message with AI, and keep the thread in one place. Built for teams who want the source, not another monthly sequencer.

Stack

• Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript
• Postgres 16 + Drizzle
• Redis 7 + BullMQ worker (npm run worker must stay up)
• Nodemailer + IMAPFlow

Requirements

• Node.js 20+
• Postgres 16
• Redis 7
• SMTP + IMAP on the sending domain (or Mailpit for local)
• VPS / Fly / Railway / Docker — not Vercel alone (the worker is a long process)

Quick start

cp .env.example .env
npm install
npm run infra
npm run db:push
npm run dev
npm run worker

Open http://localhost:3000. First visit goes to /install. Mailpit UI: http://localhost:8025.

Full stack: docker compose --profile full up --build

What is not included / not this product

• No shared warmup pool, no sending from the vendor domain
• No open tracking pixel
• No owned people database, LinkedIn scrape, or dialer
• Hunter / Prospeo / Apollo / verifier / AI keys are the buyer’s (usage billed by those providers)
