Teams and accountants
Inviting people with Owner, Editor and Viewer roles, how invites work, and accountant accounts that manage several client workspaces.

Roles
Every workspace has Owners, Editors and Viewers. In short: Owners do everything, including billing, invites and deleting the account; Editors manage subscriptions and sources; Viewers read, export CSV and create share links. The full table is on First admin and operator tasks.
Invites
Owners invite people from Team:
- Enter an email address and choose Owner, Editor or Viewer.
- Subsweep emails a link to
/invite/<token>. The invite is valid for 7 days, and only one pending invite per address is allowed. - The invitee signs in, or signs up, with the invited address and opens the link. Accepting adds them to the workspace and makes it their active workspace.
Pending invites are listed under the team table. Owners can remove members; the last Owner cannot be removed.
Important
Invites need outbound email. If sending fails, the invite is withdrawn and the Owner sees the error. With no email provider configured at all, the invite is created but its link is not printed anywhere, so the invitee cannot receive it.
Things to know in 0.1.0:
- The Pro plan's "3 team seats" is a label. The number of members is not limited on any plan.
- Every person who signs up also gets a workspace of their own. There is no workspace switcher for people who are not accountants, so after accepting an invite, the invited workspace stays their active one.
Accountant accounts
An accountant account manages several client businesses, each in its own workspace with its own sources, subscriptions and settings.
Becoming an accountant
Accountant mode comes with a paid Accountant plan:
- Sign up as usual. Ticking I manage subscriptions for more than one client (or signing up through
/signup?accountant=1) routes you through the accountant onboarding, but does not turn on accountant mode by itself. - As the workspace Owner, buy Settings → Billing → Accountant · 3 clients.
- When Stripe's webhook confirms the checkout, every Owner of that workspace becomes an accountant, and a Clients item appears in the navigation. The account's own workspace works as usual.
Without Stripe, an operator can set the plan and the flag in SQL (how).
Clients
Clients lists every client workspace with its number of subscriptions, monthly spend, flagged count and last activity.
- Add client creates a workspace with the name you type. It copies the country and base currency from your workspace, and you are its Owner. It needs your workspace to be on an active Accountant plan; otherwise it is refused with "Adding clients needs an active Accountant plan. Upgrade in Settings → Billing.", shown above the list.
- Click a row to switch into that client's workspace. Everything (sources, list, settings, team) then applies to that client.
- To let the client in, open Team inside their workspace and invite them.
Warning
Not in this version yet: switching back. Inside a client workspace, the Clients screen lists that client's own clients (normally none), so there is no button to return to your own workspace or reach your other clients. Until this is fixed, clear the subsweep_org cookie for your Subsweep domain in the browser and reload: you return to the first workspace you own. Add client inside a client's workspace is refused, because the client workspace is not itself on the Accountant plan.
Billing for accountants
The Accountant plan is a Stripe subscription with a quantity of at least 3, bought from Settings → Billing → Accountant · 3 clients. Client workspaces are created on an Accountant client plan and follow the accountant's plan: they have every Pro feature while the accountant's own workspace is on Accountant, and are treated as Free when it is not (for example after the subscription is cancelled). Nothing is deleted when that happens.
Things to know in 0.1.0:
- The quantity billed in Stripe is not updated when you add or remove clients.
- Accountant mode stays on after the Accountant plan ends, so the Clients screen remains, but adding clients is refused.
If you sell Subsweep, read Billing and plans before offering the Accountant plan.
