On this page

Everything a creator does happens in the studio at /dashboard. This page walks through it in the order a new creator meets it. The four headline modules have their own pages: Live status, Faces and schedules, Place commerce and the AI page co-pilot.

Claiming a username

After sign-up, /onboarding asks for a display name and a username: 3 to 24 letters, numbers or underscores, checked for availability as you type. The page is published straight away at /u/<username>. A creator can change the username later under Settings; the old address then stops working.

Screens that the creator's plan does not include are marked with a Pro or Premium badge and open with an upgrade prompt. Which screens those are depends on the feature keys in each plan; see Selling it as SaaS.

Profile

At the top of Links: display name (up to 48 characters), bio (up to 160) and a profile photo. Photos are cropped square in the browser, resized and saved in the database; there is no separate file storage.

Add link creates a link at the bottom of the current page; drag to reorder. Each link has:

Setting What it does
Title and URL Titles up to 80 characters. A link still pointing at a bare https:// is flagged on Home as having no real URL.
Kind url (a button), youtube (an embedded player), spotify (an embedded player), booking (a button marked "Book a time") or product (a button with a price label you type, such as "$28")
Visible Hide a link without deleting it.
Show from / until Schedule a link: it appears and disappears at those times.
Picture A 16:9 image shown above the button, cropped in the browser.
Page Which face the link belongs to. See Faces and schedules.
Pin as now Highlights one link at the top of the page with an optional label (up to 40 characters) and end time. Pinning a link unpins the previous one.
Lock See below.

The product kind is a labelled link to wherever you sell. To take payment on the page itself, use products under Earn.

Locks

Lock What the visitor does Notes
Age gate Confirms "I'm 18+" A click-through, not age verification.
Email to unlock Enters an email address The address is added to the creator's subscribers.
Password Enters the password you set Compared on the server. Password and email unlocks are limited to 20 tries per visitor IP every 10 minutes, and 600 per page per hour.
Tip to unlock Pays a tip of at least the amount you set (minimum $1, default $5) Needs a payment gateway. See Earn and payouts.

A locked link's URL is not sent to the browser until the lock is passed.

A/B title tests

At the bottom of Links, pick a link and enter two titles. Visitors are split between them, each visitor consistently seeing the same title, and taps are counted per title. Stop & apply winner ends the test, picks the title with more taps (a tie goes to the first title) and renames the link to it. One test can run per link at a time. There is no significance calculation: stop when the gap is clear.

A/B tests need the experiments key (Pro and Premium as created by the migrations), which is checked on the server. On a page whose plan does not include it, tests cannot be started or stopped, and running tests are paused: visitors see the link's own title.

Socials

Eight icons can sit on the page: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Spotify, LinkedIn, email and website.

Look

Setting Options
Theme 18 colour themes. Plans without the themes_all key get the first 6.
Typeface 9 typefaces. Plans without the fonts key get Sora, Fraunces and the system font.
Buttons Soft, pill, square, outline, sharp or round
Accent and background One accent colour and a background photo. The photo needs the custom_bg key.

The preview on the right updates as you click.

Share

Share shows the page address (the verified custom domain when there is one) and three downloads made in the browser: a QR code, a phone lock-screen wallpaper and a 1080 by 1920 story image. The QR code encodes your real page address; the caption printed on the wallpaper and story images is a hard-coded linknest.app/<username> in 1.0.0 (see Known limitations).

Settings

The public page

A published page lives at /u/<username>, and at the root of a verified custom domain. From top to bottom it can show: the profile photo, name and bio, the live status strip, socials, tabs for extra faces, a monthly tip goal, the place card and specials, the links (with the now pin first), products, the support button, the subscribe field, a message form (when the plan includes inbox) and, unless the plan includes hide_branding, the platform mark.

Every visit and tap is recorded for Analytics.
