Live status
The live status strip - a short, expiring line such as "Live now" or "Open till 9" shown on the public page, with an optional story link.

The live status strip is a short line that sits under the bio on the public page and tells visitors what is happening right now: "Live now · on IG live · 2h 15m", "Drop · new print · 45m left", "Open · till 9, kitchen open · 7h 50m". It is separate from the links, expires on its own and counts down while it is showing.
Who can use it
The editor appears on the studio's Home screen when the creator's plan includes the live_status feature key, which Pro and Premium include as created by the migrations. Without it, Home shows a short description and a link to the pricing page.
The key is also checked on the server: publishing a status needs it, and the public page shows the strip only while the page's plan includes it. A page that moves to a plan without the key keeps its stored status but stops showing it, and can still clear it.
Setting a status
On Home, in the Live status card:
Pick a kind. It sets the word in front of the line.
Kind Prefix shown Suggested expiry Live now "Live now" 3 hours Drop soon "Drop" 2 hours Open hours "Open" 8 hours Playing "Playing" 2 hours Custom None 2 hours Write the line, up to 80 characters. If you start it with the prefix ("Live now ..."), the prefix is not repeated.
Set Expires, or leave it empty to use the suggested expiry for that kind.
Optionally paste a story URL: an Instagram story or highlight, or any
httpslink. The strip then links to it.Choose Publish status. The preview pill above the buttons shows exactly what visitors will see.
Clear removes the status at once.
How it behaves on the page
- The strip shows the prefix, your line and the time left: minutes under an hour, hours and minutes under two days, then days.
- The page re-checks every 30 seconds, so the countdown moves and the strip disappears when the status expires, without a reload.
- An expired status stays stored but is no longer shown. Publishing a new one replaces it.
- The status belongs to the whole page, so it shows on every face.
Time zones
The expiry is an absolute moment, saved from the creator's browser, and the countdown is relative to it, so it is correct for every visitor wherever they are. The creator's timezone is stored with the status, but the line does not print clock times, so "Open till 9" means whatever the creator writes.
Good uses
- A musician going live: kind Live now, a 2-hour expiry, the story link pointing at the stream.
- A product drop: kind Drop soon, expiring at the drop time, and a now-pinned link to the shop.
- A café: kind Open hours, "till 9 · kitchen open", renewed each morning. Pair it with place mode for the address and hours.
